Laughs from Lissy

The kids and I were looking at seedpods the other day as we took a walk. Lissy really liked them and asked me for "more of those ipod seeds." I was stumped for a minute until I realized she meant seedpods. Later, back at the house she planted those ipod seeds. So, come spring, if anyone is needing a new ipod, check back with me. Ours are completely homegrown.

We also saw an antbed, and of course it had to be kicked to let the ants know we were there and expected some action. Not very many responded to the destruction of their home, and those that did were pretty slow. I told Lissy that it was because it was cold outside, and that made them move slowly. In complete seriousness, she asked, "Can we put a blanket on them?"

It was looking rainy the other day, for the first time in a long time. Camie was eager to play in it and asked if I wold pray for it to rain. As I started praying outloud, Lissy interrupted with, "How 'bout we pray that it won't rain. 'Dear Lord, please let it NOT rain right now." Then she opened her eyes, looked up at the sky and with that little mischievous glint she gets in her eye said, "He answered my prayer." then went back to playing. ;) She has earned the nickname Stinker Marie from my mom, because she can be a little stinker. But she can also be a little sweetie that is hard to resist. About midnight last night as Matt and I were just getting ready to turn out the light and go to bed, she crept in our room and said she couldn't get to sleep in her bed because there was a spider in it. Without waiting to be invited, she crawled up in ours, covered up and started falling asleep. So this sweet little stinker got to sleep with us last night. That's an honor in our house. I don't remember the last time a kid stayed in our bed for more than a few hours.

I'd enjoy spending a few hours one-on-one with little Stinker Marie.

About Me

My photo
I'm a Southern gal raised in MS, married to my sweet Matt from MO, the busy mamma to 4 (soon to be 5)young children. I'm realizing more all the time how I am helpless to do anything for Christ on my own. Yet when I yield myself to Him and ask for His wisdom and His power to be the wife, mom, and woman of God He wants me to be I am amazed at how He gives it. And I'm finally beginning to really understand worship as more than a church service.
