Sweet Thanks

Felicity asked the blessing for us the other day and ended with "Amen."

Micah said, "Or 'Ah-men' like Mam and Aunt La say."

Lissy answered, "Yes, but they say that when they say the 'jelly bread' one."

I was lost for a moment as to what the "jelly bread" blessing was. Then it hit me:

God is great. God is good. Now we thank Him for our food. By His hands we are fed. Thank you God for JELLY BREAD (Daily Bread, actually).

She was so serious and grown-up acting when she said it I tried not to laugh too much when I corrected her, but it was hard. :) I wonder if it seemed strange to her to thank God for jelly bread when the menu was, say, chicken nuggets. :)

For snack the other afternoon Felicity and I were eating cheese. I offered here a choice of Swiss cheese or cheddar cheese. She didn't like the Swiss, but told me, "I like chatter cheese the best." No kidding. This little girl has turned into a chatter (or cheddar) box.

I'll try to get some pictures posted soon. Maybe even later tonight.

About Me

My photo
I'm a Southern gal raised in MS, married to my sweet Matt from MO, the busy mamma to 4 (soon to be 5)young children. I'm realizing more all the time how I am helpless to do anything for Christ on my own. Yet when I yield myself to Him and ask for His wisdom and His power to be the wife, mom, and woman of God He wants me to be I am amazed at how He gives it. And I'm finally beginning to really understand worship as more than a church service.
