1...2...3...WET WIPE!

I had the fun (and I mean that) of teaching our three "big" kids the games Simon Says, Mother May I? and 1,2,3, REDLIGHT! They liked the first two okay (although on Lissy's turn when she'd say "Jump" or some other command without adding "Simon Says", I'd say, "Uh, oh! Simon didn't say!" she'd indignantly answer, "Yes, I did!") the without-a-doubt favorite was "1,2,3 Redlight." For those who don't know the game, "it" stands at one end of the room with his back to the others who are at the opposite end. The object is for the others to get to him without being seen moving. So while "it" is saying "1,2,3 " everyone moves toward him as quickly as possible . But when "it" yells "REDLIGHT!" he turns around to face the others, hoping to catch somebody still moving forward. It is a high adrenaline game. (For Camie anyway. Micah and Lissy just ran full speed ahead, right through the redlights.) On Micah's turn to be "it", we thought he was saying "1,2,3, WET WIPE!", and that made us all cackle with laughter. Of course, that just egged him on. The counting became inconsequential, an unwanted delay before the thrill of yelling WED WIGHT (or WET WIPE) at the top of his lungs. That was a fun afternoon.

Those games were always so fun!! I don't know if any kid would be able to NOT like 1,2,3 redlight if they tried it. We always giggled our way through that game. :)

About Me

My photo
I'm a Southern gal raised in MS, married to my sweet Matt from MO, the busy mamma to 4 (soon to be 5)young children. I'm realizing more all the time how I am helpless to do anything for Christ on my own. Yet when I yield myself to Him and ask for His wisdom and His power to be the wife, mom, and woman of God He wants me to be I am amazed at how He gives it. And I'm finally beginning to really understand worship as more than a church service.
